These newsletters are just another way of filtering out some shares to take a closer look at. I am sure even Dr. Steve doesnt expect you to rush out and buy anything he suggests without proper investigation and due diligence.

I once received a long rambling email about "the biggest foreign invested gold mine in China" that would double its share price over a year, and if I bought the USD1000 "The Gold Standard (forget the name)" subscription, I would find out the name of the mine. There was enough info in the mail to identify the mine without buying the subscription, whose shares have doubled in value in the year since I received the mail.

So there is at least one success story - I wonder if the subscription lists other share price doubling gold mines??
