Perhaps consider making a small donation to help offset our general server costs?

From what I've seen...

The main advantages to AdvFN over MSN:

-- AdvFN has more history
-- AdvFN has more breadth of information
-- AdvFN has speedier updates from SEC filings
-- AdvFN has fewer format changes

The main advantages of MSN over AdvFN:

-- MSN also updates from Press releases (a number of companies lack quarterly SEC filings!)
-- MSN is faster

Talking Working with new MSN format

I haven't had a chance to do a full regression, but it looks like the attached spreadsheet is working again.

I updated the web queries and then made some minor mods to the ExecuteQueries module to bypass the older queries. I tested querying from both the Rule#1 and Watchlist tabs and things seem to work.

enjoy!

Thanks! Tried "LIFC" and encountered error 1004 and several query failures.

Thadmann>> That update worked for me, but I noticed someone still mentioned having trouble. Either way, thanks very much for the update. Although it is only a stop gap measure until I can fully rebuild the spreadsheet, it should keep people up and running for a little while.

GeeDee>> Donations are processed via paypal. You can find more information about making donations at this link:

Thank you!!

Re: Automatic MOS Calculator & Watchlist for Microsoft Excel (Windows)

The calculator is an amazing timesaver, especially for the novice to Rule 1 investing. Words can't express my thanks, so I made a small donation to your efforts, Justin. I hope that many other users who benefit from the calculator will follow suit. Come on, guys!

Re: Automatic MOS Calculator & Watchlist for Microsoft Excel (Windows)

Thadmann ...

Your new beta worked for me. I ran a quick analysis of CTSH and RTSX. And the watch list worked too. I was having trouble with the watchlist with the previous version.

Justin: I'm with you on going with a simpler version. Sometimes we can get too clever. We have people at work that make such complicated spreadsheets that no one else can figure them out once the person leaves the company.

Amen. Don't "overhandicap". People want a Rosetta Stone and its just not there. You need to roll your sleeves up and get a little dirty to find the good businesses.
