That is a strange issue. Does it just happen on a few symbols? Does it happen every time with those symbols, and does it appear to happen with the exact same cells each time?

I can't say I've run into this myself, it seems that the queries are attempting to pull the data but something is interrupting that process. Do you have a stable connection?

Also noticed that you are using version 1.05, you might try updating to 1.06 which was released just last night.

In case you are still looking from the results from UNT, here is what I get on version 1.06, using office 2002 and windows xp service pack 2.

Perhaps someone else here can offer more guidance on what may be causing your issue?

Hi Justin,

Your tool is great and I appreciate the effort you have done. The question I have is in the Cash Flow tab. I quite often see highlighted row, but blank rows. I notice this quite often when I get negative numbers on the main page for MOS. i.e. - pvh

Thanks

Any thoughts?

Justin

I have used the older verion of the MOS calculator in the past and really found the "watchlist" portion of the spreadsheet useful. What format does everyone use now for their watchlist? Has anyone made a spreadsheet that can be linked to the latest MOS Calculator release?
Thanks for all your hard work.

Justin,

I downloaded and have been using this version of the calculator. After entering the ticker symbol and pressing ENTER, several times I have gotten this message:

"This web query returned no data. To modify the query, click OK, click the name of the external data range in the name box on the formula bar, and then click Edit Query on the External Data toolbar."

What does this mean, and what do I do when this happens? I'm not very savvy with sophisticated Excel functions.

Thank you,

yougogirl

Re: Margin of Safety Calculator for MSN Money

Well, I've never used a spreadsheet before but the automatic calculators look great. The problem may be that I am using a Mac. I am using a trial version of Office 2004 for Mac. I launch Excel and opened the calculators. As I said, they look great but when I try to input another stock symbol, nothing happens. So then I try to import data via web quiery and some data comes but overlays the spreadsheet.

Then I thought, maybe this doesn't work with the Mac version of Excel. Any hints or advise would be appreciated. Also any direction for us Mac users of other programs that would do the same.

Thanks

I have the program on two separate computers and it was great on one but I was getting those same error messages on the other. So I knew it was in my computer. The one it didn't work on was running an older version of Firefox. I deleted and reinstalled using Internet Explorer and that solved the problem. Hope it helps!

Thanks for your suggestion. I'm not sure what Firefox is, but I don't think I run that on my computer.

Re: Margin of Safety Calculator for MSN Money

Not at this time, however a solution for users who do not have Excel for Windows is in the works. Stay tuned!
