Re: Margin of Safety Calculator for MSN Money

Hey guys - I'm posting from a friend's computer today, and likely will be for the next couple of business days. I've been having trouble with the power supply on my laptop. I noticed that the plug in was getting a little bit looser every couple of days. Then a few times the power supply got surprisingly hot, and finally, quit altogether. It's at a repair shop right now being looked at. I'm still waiting to find out how much damage has been done. At this point I don't even know whether or not it's worth fixing the dang thing.

I see there have been a few more bugs that have cropped up. I'm pretty sure they can all be worked out within a few hours or so if I had the files I needed. I'll get on this as soon as I know whats going on with my computer. I apologize for the delay folks.

Re: Margin of Safety Calculator for MSN Money

Ok, I will answer my own question. I posted a question on a MS site/forum and a bunch of people helped me.

If you have a Mac...here is what you can do...

Once you have opened the worksheet, go to the "quotes" tab and then when you see the toolbar on the worksheet, click on the exclaimation point.

Re: Margin of Safety Calculator for MSN Money

It works for me (110) but there are some bugs (company info looking in wrong cell for text is one). What version of Excel, what Operating system? Doe it prompt you with Security messages : Enable Macros and Enable Automatic Refresh? Set it to Medium for your own security, not Low.

Re: Margin of Safety Calculator for MSN Money

Hey folks, a new version has been uploaded. This should straighten out the intermittent errors on the company description. Thanks dhagg1!

The download link to the latest version is available in the original post of this thread:

Re: Margin of Safety Calculator for MSN Money

When you open the file, it prompts you twice.
1. Enable Macros?
2. Enable automatic refresh?

Do you get these?
If so, answer Yes to both. If not, then we'll cross that bridge.
