Thanks for the help. I did that but a "Clear Target List" box pop up asking me
The workbook name for the source of the import is : "Old version" About to clear the target watch list in the "New version" Do you want to continue ?

Thumbs up Re: Margin of Safety Calculator & Watchlist for MSN Money 3.03a (Excel Based)

All,

This tool has come a long way. I have a couple of suggestions that I would love to see considered.

1) Use a five year horizon versus a 10 year one. I think that 10 years is much too long to use the growth rates, especially those of young companies that will slow down a bit after a while. This gets compounded with the 15% discounting and makes companies with a lower than 15% growth rate look really bad. Since Rule #1 already takes a 50% MOS it seems to really penalize those people who can grow earnings at 10%. Rather than playing with the discount rate (nice feature) or the MOS factor (again, nice add), it would be great to just have an input for horizon.

2) The watch list is incredible! I would like to possible see a new ability to save history for a company so that you could track the progress by quarter or something like that. I know that I could just cut and paste values into a different spreadsheet or a new tab of this one, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Thanks again to all who have worked so hard to make this tool do everything it does.

Regards,

Don

Re: Margin of Safety Calculator & Watchlist for MSN Money 3.03a (Excel Based)

How do you enter stocks that have wierd symbols that are caused by A or B shares, etc. I have two that I can't figure out what to enter for them. CMG.B (Chipotle B shares) and MWA.B. are both MF Hidden Gems. Various sites add the period and others add a dash. I tries doing each of those and even with the "." or "-" removed. It does work with the elimination of the 4th character, but what if the shares are priced differently?

Re: Margin of Safety Calculator & Watchlist for MSN Money 3.03a (Excel Based)

Numerous issues with MSN303a including the inability to import data but instead getting error 1004. Watch list is importing data sporadically and suddenly speeds up without retrieving the data to calculate. This is the second night this has happened around 9pm central. Wondering if this has to do with server maintenance issues??

Re: Margin of Safety Calculator & Watchlist for MSN Money 3.03a (Excel Based)

I updated to the most recent version and I always get a bad data sign and an error message that says 12 out of 12 queries failed and all were 'Unable to Attempt'. I'm I missing something. I have tried every solution on the website, but still nothing. Any help?

Re: Automatic MOS Calculator & Watchlist for Microsoft Excel (Windows)

Everything with 303a was working perfectly. But now lately only a few of my symbols update. The majority of them come up all blank when I hit update in the watchlist. I tried downloading the file again, but that didn't help either. Does anyone have any ideas. This was working fine...

Re: Automatic MOS Calculator & Watchlist for Microsoft Excel (Windows)

The Beta version of 303 was also working fine for me. Can we put that with the previous versions, so that I can try it again?

Re: Automatic MOS Calculator & Watchlist for Microsoft Excel (Windows)

We are working on a fix to correct these issues.

I have added the previous version to the unsupported spreadsheets thread.
