Re: Automatic MOS Calculator & Watchlist for Microsoft Excel (Windows)

Sorry guys... I just read your posts now and apparently there must be a problem with the excel sheets. I can't wait to hear when its fixed. I have become so dependent on it. Saves me a ton of time!

It's the add-in the AdvFN version was using. The add-in, documentation, and examples/templates can be found in the files area of this Yahoo group:

Re: Automatic MOS Calculator & Watchlist for Microsoft Excel (Windows)

Hi Justin,

I am an European user of the 303 program. Fascinated by analytical potential of this spreadsheet.

A quick technical question re data import. Despite 1Mbit access to Internet, still I have not completed import on any security. Tried ACN recently (error 1004. All 10 queries failed, including message type query failed status completed and query failed unable to attempt).

What can you suggest?

Regards,
Adam

Thanks a lot! I am joining the group now. If this is more reliable than the web queries, does anyone know why it stopped getting used?

Thanks!

Several reasons:

1. It used AdvFN to get more years of data, which is slower.
2. It required the use of the add-in, while the original is a stand-alone workbook.
3. The "WatchList" version is based on the other design.

I've always intended to go back and create a stand-alone version using extracted versions of the add-in functions, but there are so many other things I have on my "to do" list.

Plus, I have a number of changes I'd want to make to the model -- you may have noticed I've harped on the forum about GIGO ("Garbage In, Garbage Out") a number of times. I think a "Growth Estimate" based on some form of regression (and utilizing it correlation for validity) would be much better than simply using end points to compute the growth rate (and ignoring all of the intermediate data, which may show vast inconsistencies).

Re: Automatic MOS Calculator & Watchlist for Microsoft Excel (Windows)

Hi, I'm a fairly new member and have downloaded the MOS Calc for Excel -Windows and used it previously and think it's an outstanding tool! Unfortunately, I"m getting an error message when I try and update a symbol....''Not all queries completed successfully (10 failures out of 12) ....ExecuteQueries subroutine-Error 1004 was generated by MOS Calc''

I've downloaded the program again and I"m still receiving the same error message, broadband connection is good, firewall let's excel out to web, etc. Not sure why this error message started but would appreciate any feedback!!!

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

Jeff

That makes sense. Where can I find the original version? I have been looking on the SMF Yahoo! Group and found lots of different examples but haven't found the spreadsheet yet.

Thanks!
