Re: Anyone using stockinvestor.com

Here's my update so far. Here's the executive summary:

I do not recommend this software.

First thing out of the gate is that I get a notice that the sofware will expire in 9 days. What? I haven't called yet but that seemed a little odd as they charged me 69 dollars last month.

The software is okay as far as it goes but the excel spreadsheet does just as good a job as this software does.

They use a Red & Green arrows system & stock scan to find the "Rosette Stone" and it's entry & exit points.

You can sign up for their weekly news letter with an e-mail address & a first name. Nice web site easy on

the eyes and not a lot of junk!

Good luck!
I currently work for StockInvestor.com. If you hear the radio ad you can get the tool kit for $4.95. Listen in and call us.

Re: Anyone using stockinvestor.com

Here's the long version.

I called in and thought I was going to get the software for 4.95 as per the radio ad. However, about 20 days later I was charged 69. I installed the software and started working my way through the included DVD's. The first few are on how to use the software. Very good at that. Then they talk about finding companies.
I think that this software is geared toward investors that want to buy and sell stocks. This is different than Phil Town's advice to buy and sell companies. I would say that the software is solid, the company contacted me and tried to upsell some consulting with an advisor. Very professional, very polite, no real hard sell.
Here's the summary: If you are into buying and selling stocks and want to go that route, then I would heartily recommend this product. However, if you are following the ROIC approach, I would probably stay away from it. Your mileage may vary, but I don't have the time to wade through a ton of DVD's or manuals. I'm working on my MBA, plus a full time job plus 3 little kids and lets not forget the wife! So for me, this was not a good fit.
I sincerely hope that this helps.

Re: Anyone using stockinvestor.com

Im trying out now, but I didn't dial the 800 number. Just went to the website, downloaded the software and the PDF on line, and registered.

First thing, my pc didnt like the streaming broadcast and couldn't link to it. That was a little annoying, but like most, I can usually finger out a software buttonology eventually on my own anyway.

Second thing, of course, you need an account to use it, and guess who just happens to have his own brokerage firm all ready compatible to the software?

Another thing , the webmaster or IDC group have an annoying habit of just closing down he site for whatever without saying anything, so when you try calling it up, nothing happens. Grrrrrr

But overall it looks like a good system after playing around with it, so Ill give it a shot. But then, Im retired, have lots of time to train myself, go over the materials and toss in a few bucks. Not sure if Id have had the time or inclination to a couple years ago when the railroad kept a full plate of stuff to do in front of me for 8 to 10 hours a day.

Re: Anyone using stockinvestor.com

Hey good luck! I took a look at the web site, looks a lot like the Investools charts. Interesting.

Mr. Jardine has been doing a lot of radio advertising in Fresno, CA, on the local news blow torch, KMJ.

Good luck I hope it works. Keep the board updated!

Thumbs up Re: Anyone using stockinvestor.com

I ordered this program a couple weeks ago, I was a little skeptical because they ask for credit card information first... but nevertheless I ordered, the program sounded great, and the price wasn't too outrageous compared to other software I had been looking at.

So... good things about it
It is real time. It updates about every half hour or so I would say. Very user friendly. I got through the DVD's and they helped me quite a bit. I have never done any investing so it was a whole lot of information I needed. If your experienced I wouldn't say to dive too deep into those. I attended the online start session which was helpful. I also received calls asking if I was having any trouble with the software or if I had any questions. Also received calls about other services.. declined. They weren't pushy. Recommendations so far have been great. I still do research to back most of them up just so I feel comforable. But overall, it's been pretty close most of the time. I did some research on Ross, he was the co-founder of Investools. So if you didn't like that program, I'm assuming you won't like this one. They have a lot of simularities just comparing the two websites.

The bad things...
Really the only thing I didn't not about the software was the up front credit card information. I didn't cancel the program so I don't know how thats handled if you do.... but I've never been a big fan of automatic payments. But this one turned out to be great so I guess I lucked out!
