Question www.conscious-investor.com Has anybody tried it?

Hi

I was just wondering if anyone at Roicommunity is using the tool at Conscious Investing: An Investment Revolution which is supposedly based on Buffet's strategy and has supposedly a great track record...

Please do provide your detailed feedback if you are using it.

Thanks,

I would approach this website, as I do any financial website that promises "Buffett-like" returns, with skepticism. I reviewed the website months ago and found that it tries to make investing a scientific "black box" endeavor. On one hand the website comments on how Buffett doesn't rely on formulas to drive his investments, but then touts its proprietary models that help investors value stocks. DCF models are deemed unreliable because small changes in their inputs can result in varying results. Isn't that true for any valuation model including his own.

Any valuation model, whether it be a Rule #1 earnings model or a DCF model, is limited by the inputs one makes. The real science when using models is the inputs we choose to use, and even that is more art then science.

Indeed. Mary Buffetts Buffettology was criticized by Buffett for being too formulaeic which was not his approach.

Thus said, it may well be possible that this sort of formula works, or achieves good results. At least for some time.

But then again, Joel Greenblatts 'magic' formula is just as good and doesn't require such a high subscription fee. In fact, apart from the book it's entirely free. If that professor has a 'genetic' urge to teach, then why doesn't he make his teachings more accessible like millions of others have done before him?

I'd stay on the side lines. Unless someone is able to travel faster than light I cannot see how they can reliably predict the future --which is what investors try to do.
