quicken: "One-Click Scorecard" & "Stock Evaluator"

Greetings

On quicken.com, there are 2 tools:
1. One-Click Scorecard
2. Stock Evaluator (need to have quicken program to get access to this)

In one-click scorecard, you can see the strong stocks by the Warren Buffett way (Link)

once you go there, you will 2 columns: "Intrinsic Value" & "Discount to Intrinsic Value".

Anythoughts about the values that are provided in these 2 columns. Can you test one of your own stocks which you already know the MOS price against this tool?

Thanks!!

I went to "www.quicken.com" and didn't see any of the info you're talking about. Can you specify?

Re: quicken: "One-Click Scorecard" & "Stock Evaluator"

When comparing the intrinsic value calculations of this website versus Rule #1 you need to know how they come up with theirs. He says it's the Warren Buffet way which is a Discounted Cash Flow analysis. This will not give you the same MOS that Rule 1 does.

If you're interested in the DCF analysis, then search for many of npg's and petekoch's posts regarding this method. They give very good explanations.

Just glancing at the first company on the list - it appears in rule 1 analysis that it does have a pretty good MOS.

All in all it looks like a decent stock screener to begin some new research.

Thanks for the post.

Re: quicken: "One-Click Scorecard" & "Stock Evaluator"

I have to say, I have been looking for something like Quicken for a long time. It allows me to compare the stocks I choose to the theoretical picks by Buffett, as well as perform good calculations of value when compared to my own.
I've looked at Quicken in the stores before. They've never explained themselves well. FYI they have a new product which is available for free for one month so that you can use the tools you describe while not paying.

So far.....excellent...thanks
