Great forum by the way

I seen the get motivated seminar in April of 2004. But even then people who lived in california and new york around that time were being charged a lot more. this is just the price to sign up that day. and it was a free 6 month subscription.

people should ban together split the cost. maybe it would be kind of neat to list by state here so people can sign up looking for someone to go in on it.

Re: Getting InvesTools CHEAP.

I signed up at the "get motivated" seminar for the "introductory" class that was one day long and included access to Investools. The "Special" cost for signing up at the seminar was $999.00. I attended the one day class and have not signed up for any more. They do call and bug me on a regular basis but I don't mind. I am still trying to learn how to use the program so I can be a Rule #1 investor as per Phil's book. This is my first day using the "ROIC::, etc site and it looks like I may be able to pick up some info that will help me on my quest.

Re: Getting InvesTools CHEAP.

talked with investools today. offer was $1999 for 6-month site access plue online trading course. beyond that $599 buys 14 months access. i had attended the nashville success seminar in 2004 and signed up only to return the materials for a refund. i haven't totally ruled it out but that initial payout is pretty steep. i just don't know that the convenience is worth it.

Re: Getting InvesTools CHEAP.

I checked with Ben from InvesTools today. Here is an excerpt from the conversation confirming the current price for InvesTools.

Quote:
You are now chatting with 'Ben R'
Ben R: Welcome to Investools. How may I assist you?

JustinBr: Hello Ben, I have a question regarding the current price for 6 months of access to the online toolbox.

JustinBr: For a time I was able to refer new subscribers to InvesTools at a $995 rate, now I hear conflicting reports as to its current availability. Hoping you might be able to clear that up?

Ben R: Hi, Justin. You bet.

Ben R: With the introduction of the new toolbox we have standardized the pricing across the board.

Ben R: The cost of enrollment has been recently increased to $1,999.00. This includes the Online Stocks Course, the live 2 Day Workshop, and 6 months of Toolbox access.

JustinBr: I see - good to know that it has been standardized. There seems to be much confusion regarding the pricing model

Ben R: Yes, there has been - we are working to get those rumors under control...

JustinBr: What is the 6 month or yearly renewal rate beyond the $1995 initial cost?

Ben R: It runs about $50 per month when you buy it in six month increments.

Re: Getting InvesTools CHEAP.

Just attended Get Motivated seminar and the cost is $995 for 2-day workshop, 1/2 hr website consultation, investools online investing course, investing education online tutorials, and 6-month access to the investor toolbox (which I must say is the best I have seen in terms of searching stocks and charting (even includes red/green arrows)). Subsequent rates for the toolbox would be $299 for 6-months. Fyi

Re: Getting InvesTools CHEAP.

I called them this week and they told me that they have now lowered the price to $1000 for the online course and 2-day seminar, including 6 months of the toolbox. After that, the toolbox is $50 a month.

It seems like most of you guys are really happy with Investools, but I've read a lot of bad things about them on the internet. Is it worth it? I can aford it but don't want to waste any money.

Re: Getting InvesTools CHEAP.

Well, here goes my timing. I got Investools for $1,999 just late in May. So to read that they lowered the price really hurts.. Is it worth it ? I think so, (make your searches much faster). Especially , that you can get it now for HALF PRICE!!
The bad think about them is that they try to sell you other courses (options) for a lot of money and when you attend seminar they are very aggressive about it.

Re: Getting InvesTools CHEAP.

I was using a friends account and he decided not to renew. I just signed up today for $999.00 They said they started this last week. It comes with a six month subcription, the home study course and a two day workshop.

That is a steal people.

Re: Getting InvesTools CHEAP.

Not cheap enough. I've had it for about a year. Six months left on the last renewal. I do not plan to renew. I don't find it that useful. I hate how slow the revised version is. You can't set it up to go to your portfolio upon logon so you have to wade through too many menus. They wan't to sell you option crap. blah blah blah. This site, the spreadsheet and Phil's site are all of more value to me.
YMMV

We are a couple of Investools students who have been members since Nov. 2005, and we definitely think that the site is worth the money we pay for it. But, if you are looking for some additional comments, check out the InvestorGeeks blog, and look for the thread regarding Phil Town and Investools. You will find LOTS of opinions expressed there, both postive and negative, but two of the ones we found most informative were the last two postings by B. Reasonable and Monica Harlow.
