Take a look at the chart for ACV. Could anyone have seen this coming prior to Nov. 16th? Ouch!.

if you dig it a bit, I think you'll find out the reason for the drop is that they gave out $25 divindend to the stockholders. So the stock price drop from 52 to 21 was not as bad as it looks.

ACV spun off part of their business into a separate company (Sally Beauty Holdings - SBH). ACV shareholders received one share of the new ACV, one share of the new SBH AND a $25 special cash dividend for each share they held before Nov 16. Overall, they have more value after the drop on the charts than before.
