I don't think that my call for a buy on AAPL at 130$ was a bad one. It just got way too cheap to ignore. That would have netted anyone a 30% gain at todays price of 170.

Re: Apple Computer, Inc. (AAPL)

While the rest of the market wasn't doing too well yesterday, AAPL was up more than 4%. Many are speculating that because it was the first trading day of the second half of 08 that a lot of big players were buying into companies they saw give them good returns for the latter part of this year. AAPL being one of them. While this is a volatile time, oil, recession, middle east violence, etc., I think the new 3G iPhone out on July 11 is going to be a huge hit. I looked at the demo, and it's pretty impressive - phone, mac/PC, gameboy, personal nav system, iPod, all in one. I also like that they're really trying to get into the business sector with Microsoft Exchange integration chipping away at Rimm's perceived moat. OK, so 175 isn't the cheapest price, but with AAPL's fundamentals it's still below sticker. I'm going long on this one.

Here's the demo if you haven't seen it already:

Re: Apple Computer, Inc. (AAPL)

Watch for a rally this week. 3G iPhone to be sold 8 am Friday morning. Looks like today AAPL broke resistance and now all three indicators are green. Yes I'm bullish on this stock, but this is a true Rule 1 company now in a bullish pattern. Thought my fellow Rule 1 members would want to know. Is it within margin of saftey? From the stock2own.com website, 5 year MOS is 292 and 10 year at over 1k. Probably unrealistic, but this tends to be the case with companies like aapl and goog that have had rediculous growth. Currently trading at 178. Maybe a little higher than I would like (I really like aapl when it was down in the 120s), but still no reason to think it's overpriced. Most analyst's targets are in the 220 range.

Re: Apple Computer, Inc. (AAPL)

What on earth makes you predict a rally? And even if there were, it would be a pointless event in the long term.

Business fundamentals are a much better indicator for profits. Here is a link to my initial assessment, when the stock was trading at 56$. Note that when this post was made no iPhone was in the pipeline nor had Vista been released.

As far as I am concerned my view still holds. And as long as this holds I am going to keep the security ;) Trying to time the market only resulted in reduced profits for me. I am honestly awful at it. 3 tools or not, it's a hopeless case for me..

Re: Apple Computer, Inc. (AAPL)

AAPL is the "darling of walstreet" right now, and while most companies have not even begun to correct from their highs last October, AAPL is inching closer. AAPL's fundamentals are very good. The iPhone is a sexy toy, but their real strategy is MACs. But don't underestimate the smart phone market. AAPL can easily double or triple their meager presence with this new phone. Everything looks good for this company right now. In the spirit of this board (which is based mainly on Rule 1), I am merely suggesting that this is a Rule 1 company with all the Ms, and all three indicators in the green. Take with that what you will. I realize you already own stock in AAPL (as do I), but many on this board do not and they might benefit from this.

Re: Apple Computer, Inc. (AAPL)

AAPL down -$17.77 per share, (6:14 EST), after hours & todays earnings report.

Tue. may be very intresting for the Tech. Sector if AAPL & SNDK continue with negative after hours trading.

YAHOO reports on Tue.

AAPL. WOW! Props., to AAPL. Not many businesses could have done what they did today. If there was audio, I would hit the clap button.

Drops from yesterdays close of $166.29 to $146.53 on the 1st flash of todays open. Fought back all day and darn near closed the gap.

Amazing!

Re: Apple Computer, Inc. (AAPL)

I went long in Appl at 175 and 167 a few weeks back. I intend to stick this one out as missing the expectations of an analyst and selling because of that seems ludicrous to me considering the potential this company has. Besides they historically low ball their guidance. Today's rally was fairly impressive but the sell off seemed ludicrous to me in the first place. The company hasn't changed, instead it produced a record "June" quarter.

Support @ $120.00? Using Weekly chart.

Bearish price objective: $86.00.

Any thoughts?

Re: Apple Computer, Inc. (AAPL)

Looks like a great short right now - just don't know if I have the guts to pull the trigger.
