Hey ravicide, thanks for joining ROIC. As far as the new additions, Pat just about summed it up. The progress bar is not an exact measurement of anything. There are about 10 images that will cycle through with your continued involvement with the community. Something to encourage participation really. :)

Hi everybody!
:wink: I am a beginner in investing in stock market and I hope this forum will give me some good ideas. I started to read Rule#1 book. I like it and I am confident it will improve my knowledge in investing.

Hi everyone! I'm a software developer and principle of a small consulting company. We're not the kind that comes in and tells you how everything you're doing is wrong, instead we build software systems that work. :)
Thanks so much to Justin for this amazing site, and to all the regular posters for sharing your knowledge. I love it here, and have been lurking for a while now. I'm married and the one in charge of our finances, which is both exciting and scary. I've tried investing in the past with pretty pathetic results (or more honestly, pretty horrible results). After doing some retirement calculations and realizing how much of a difference a good rate of return makes, I decided to put a toe back in the water, and start reading some books. Phil's was the first, and I really liked it. I did a brief bit of paper trading, but was so excited that I jumped in with real trading. I probably jumped the gun on that, but haven't actually *lost* money, though that's likely due to the market being favorable recently. I'm really enjoying the forums, and will try to be braver and post some, rather than just watch the fun. - Tracy
