Me
Ok, so much to do, so little time. Here am I, I'm 57 years old, almost no savings, no retirement and disabled. Guess I better get busy. Love the site so far. I downloaded an excel program for macs to calculate mos and bingo, it looks great. I've been researching and using rule 1 since about may i think. Not much actual investing though as this market seems pretty tipsy (DOW over 12,000) and I'm saving up some money to invest. Anyway, cool job on teh forum. I look forward to really checking it out.

Hello George and welcome to our community. I'm glad you found us, you've already gotten a lot of the basics down. You'll trim the heck out of that learning curve by participating in this community. Several of the companies you've mentioned have been listed in the Homework Examples forum. You might jump in there and see if you have anything enlightening to add?
See you around!

Welcome, fellow Floridian! I'm a beginner at all this, but I'll tell you, this Forum is the place to be! I've read all the posts (and all of Phil Town's blogs, too). After absorbing all this data, day after day, the pieces of the puzzle start coming together. With all this knowledge, your confidence and certainty will increase. Good luck to you!

Hi Tsing,
hope you like it in Germany. If you are lazy, you can buy an audiobook. You can get Phil's book from www.audible.com. That's were I got it. Ingo  |

Welcome Andrea. I just finished the book recently and am very excited to implement what Phil Town teaches. I am math challenged as well but Phil made it so easy with his step by step examples and screen shots. I have read hundred of books on investing and trading but this book really stands out because of the marriage between the technical indicators and the fundamentals. I really haven't read a book that combined until this one.

Hello Rule #1 gang,
I recently fininshed Phil's book and absolutely loved it. I love the way he explained the fundamentals in a way I can understand because I am numerically challenged :-) I started daytrading professionally in 1999 and stop daytrading in 2003 . I was exhaused and burnt out with reading the tape and scalping. I always wanted to be investor and enjoy research as opposed to momentum trading. I have a good background with technicals but I have a lot to learn regarding fundamentals. I am excited to be apart of this group and to learn and share from all of you. Justin, thank you for putting this site together. This is a wonderful resource to share and learn from one another. I also like the idea of posting possible trades because it forces you to communicate and really analyze why your buying or selling a stock as opposed to emotionaly jumping in on a gut feeling. Thanks |
