New Trader and Impressed

Almost done with the book. Made an appt to go "free" Investools meeting in Dec. See what is about but realize costly and may not be for me at the moment. Will keep an open mind listen and even if going to front the $$ now perhaps at a later date will do so. For now I want to see for myself what it is about.

Nice forum great postings from many points of view.

I have traded and invested but the discipline in Rule #1 is new to me and I am always willing to learn.

Great group!!

Thanks

Re: new trader and impressed

Hello axxel and welcome to the community! If your experience at the free Investools seminar is anything like mine, you'll come away learning quite a bit. But you'll also be bombarded by some pretty damn good sales pitches too. So be prepared for that.

As a new trader & investor, think of yourself as having an edge over the guy who has traded for years and never really gotten anywhere. You are just the type of guy we like - you don't have any bad habits we have to break! I say this because the most important thing for your education process right now is just making sure you are getting the right information with as little bs to sift through as possible. I truely and honestly believe that you are in the best company possible for this step.

Rule One Investing will show you both sides of the equation. How intrinsic value interacts with price value, and how the two are seldom alike. You'll actually be able to watch the price of a stock plummet and be excited because you know its "on sale".

So yes, welcome - very glad to have you on board. Don't ever hesitate to ask any questions along the way!

Re: Newbie from Corpus Christi

I downloaded the excel spreadsheet and I am having a problem with it. I am not able to lower the (macro) that is suggested in the "read me" section. As a result the entire spreadsheet is a read only file.

I am convinced

I have read a few investment books and none have ever got me thinking like Phil's. I have never invested before but because of his book I am going to get started asap!!!! Just here to introduce myself. I am called nightshift. I am a writer among a lot of other things and do most of it during the quiet hours of the night. Looking forward to meeting everyone here and establishing some good friendships. Anyone here live near Nashville, TN. I wish Phil would come back here. I seen him here in 04 with Get Motivated.

Re: I am convinced

Welcome nightshift. I agree on the book. It was great. I don't live in Nashville, but my daughter does. She works for Dell. We'll be there Saturday. Good luck with this. So far, I love this forum. Lots of hard workers, nice people and good info. Download the excel calculator. It saves me a ton of time. Whoever did that is a genius.

Hello Nightshift, and welcome to our Community! I've got family in Clarksville, not sure exactly how far that is from Nashville. Very glad to have you as a part of this rapidly growing community.

Don't ever hesitate to ask any questions along the way, there are a lot of really helpful people here :)

Hopefully, along with other benefits, I can get some company/stock ideas from this community.

By the way, can any Investools users comment on the program? Is it really worth a couple of grands? Thanks.
We were quoted $450.00 in 04 in Nashville, TN. I guess the price went up!!!!

Question New guy, need help learning the ropes

Hey Everybody,

I'm new to investing and new to foruming, The first question I have is there anybody in this group that can work with me so I can make sure I have the formula right, for the big 5,finding sticker price and then MOS.
The second question is about the EXILE version 3.01 MOS finder, does anybody else have problems with bad data (red box) appearing often
