Glad I found this community...new to all this but sounds exciting....have only dabbled in stocks...busy with ny business...but hope to get put on the right investing track...

It is just by luck that I’m here contributing to this forum.

A few months ago, I noticed a magazine that was delivered to our office that had a picture of Maria Bartiromo on the cover. Obviously, she is an attractive lady and I glanced through the magazine and came across a story on Phil Town and his book. Well, I found his story just as fascinating as Maria’s and decided to order the book.

This Thanksgiving weekend, I completed reading his book, created a Rule #1 Cheat Sheet (MS Word format), and downloaded the version 3_02 spreadsheet from this forum. I am very eager to get started with this strategy. To be brutally honest, I have been in cash for 6 years!

A few comments/questions that I have on the spreadsheet:

1) In the Version 3_02 download, it included the WatchList already populated with stocks. What search tool was used to develop this list (i.e. Investools’ new Rule #1 filter, MSN’s Stock Screener)?

2) I found the Version 3_02 spreadsheet to be an excellent tool and would be willing to help future developments. I actually own a software company that creates enterprise web-based software using Microsoft’s .NET 2.0 platform. A version could be created that is fully web-based and that uses multi-threading (geek speak) to analyze data on the watchlist very quickly.

Again, kudos to the MOS Development Team for creating a great tool and to the Forum Owner!

Hello and welcome to our community! Most of the stocks included in the watch list are taken directly from the Homework Examples Archive and are under further group evaluation.

As new businesses are found (as they often are), one of the developers manually plugs it into the list and includes it in a future update. The list is constantly evolving as our searches find new businesses, and our research disqualfies others.
