that is funny...i actually work out of anderson. i have not been to the jockey lot recently...i try to stay away from all that craziness. although you get great entertainment when you go there.

hi jj,
I have read the book 3 times and each time i learn something new, i use it as reference too. This site is a great addition to the book. As for JAKK looks like the recent movements might give some positive movements up but the price is not within MOS i am getting MOS at 8.22 and the current price of 23.22 is enough to to exclude this one for now. Also their sales for the last 10 years a bit jumpy for me. cheers J.

I hadn't heard of JAKK yet, so I pulled that up on the InvesTools spreadsheet. At first glance it doesn't look too bad, although there are a few things that concern me off hand. Jason already hit on a few of the key notes. JAKK.GIF First and foremost, JAKK is still a bit out of our range for Margin of Safety. Not that JAKK is supremely overvalued, but since we are looking to buy fifty cents on the dollar, we really aren't wanting to spend more then 8 or 9 bucks a share for JAKK. Also seeing a few stutter steps in JAKK's historical data. As jason mentioned, sales growth rates are erratic, and 2003 ROIC was a measly 3%. Maybe as some of that institutional money starts coming out of there, JAKK might get a little cheaper and end up right in our lap with an acceptable Margin of Safety Price. Although when that happens, you still have to take into account the past historical data and wonder if there aren't any better investments out there. You might also check out our Homework Examples Archive for further analysis on other potential investments. Welcome!
