Hello from Calgary, Canada
Just started my career as an engineer in Calgary, Canada. I decided it was very important to learn about investing. I have read several books and none have made even close to as much sense as Rule #1. I am really excited to get started!

Re: Hello from Minneapolis, MN
Hi Lynn
I have not been on this board for a while, but I am very intrigued by Rule 1. I live in Apple Valley. I hope to learn some more and to make some profitable investments. I bought MSFT and LOW about 6 months ago, and both have done well, but they were not Rule 1 investments. |

Mid-life crisis in Missouri
Howdy,
I woke up the other day and noticed that I was 40 years old. And, while the NASCAR Racing Experience at Kansas Motor Speedway that my wife got me helped to soften the birthday a tad, I noticed that I didn't smile as much the other night after I watched the video of my 'race' for only the 122nd time. And the strangers that I attack are even starting to become annoyed after I make them sit through the video as well. I need something new...... A friend of mine told me about the Rule #1 book last week. And, after reading it, I can tell you that I am more nervous at this moment than I was getting into that car. I've read through the board and am totally lost. But, I am excited to find others with whom I can share the 'ride' with. I won't be much help at first, but I usually catch on to things after only a couple of years of failing. That's the good part about being 40. I've finally figured out that the only limitations to my life are, well pretty much everything. But heck, at this age, I've only got what.....maybe 30 years left! rod |

Re: Mid-life crisis in Missouri
Welcome. I actually like being 40 something (43). For me as I find myself getting older, I don't care near as much what people think. I'm learning that I cannot please everyone and I can only be myself. If they like me great. If not, I'm not going to get upset over it like I used too. Rock on 40!!
