There is over a 90% certainty that, barring some random anomaly, the market will be higher on October 17th.

Re: Time to buy

How do you know which stocks will be up on October 17th? Should we just buy an index such as SPY or VTI so we don't have individual stock
risk and miss the opportunity?

And you know this because.....? Allow me a guess. Something to do with typical market behavior the month following a Fed rate cut?

Actually, 50% certainty is a more appropriate number, but I do like your hedge: barring some random anomaly. Such as? Joe Torre getting fired? Planetary (mis)alignment?

Re: Time to buy

I have information that I'll share with people in a few months when it continues to prove out. But I'm not kidding when I talk about accuracy. I'm planning to start trading e-minis after a few more weeks of practice.

Re: Time to buy

Hi npg, I am a mother of two little girls who are trying to earn some money for our future. I read most of your comments and posts on this website and seems like you have lots of knowledge in this field. I just bought FCX and RIMM yesterday. I would like to know your comments about these please. Did I do a good move or was it a mistake. I am very new to this market and I read the Rule #1 book. Appreciate if you could give me an answer. Thank you,
Nilmini

Thank you for the confidence *blush*, I am not sure I deserve such praise.

Maybe you should state why you bought a stake in FCX and RIMM? That's always a good start.

Please note that I am not giving investment advice nor am I in a position to draft up a financial plan for you. If you need help in these matters then you could try these guys. Also, if you are planning for the future of your children then I strongly recommend you read this article before investing in companies.

Re: Time to buy

This will be the pause that refreshes. Start looking for buy canidates soon.

The market has been very unhealthy and very over extended. Businesses on sale are right around the corner. Sharpen your pencils. I have been commenting on the retracement/correction for awhile.
