Re: Is Value Investing passé?

More people who invest in the market lose money than those who gain. That's not just a TA phenomenon.

I agree that a combination of fundamental/TA is a very good idea. My fundamental analysis is very simple - so as to elicit high growth stocks. I look for one year of greater than 20% EPS growth, 12-month relative strength of greather than 90, one-year ROIC growth at greather than 20%, and a price of greater than $7 so as to avoid penny stocks. Oh, I also screen for daily volume greater than 200,000.

That gives a very good basket of stocks with tremendous upside potential - and also some with downside potential - very volatile stocks. Trading these technically tends to give excellent results.

Re: Is Value Investing passé?

Hi R46,

I always thought someone from the Islands, was pretty laid back & cool. Apparently, I was wrong.

If you check back to my first response, to your question via post on this board, you seemed satisfied.

Again. Sorry I have offended you.

Remember only price pays & the charts do not lie.

Best of investing.

So am going to focus on trying to find Chinese companies with growing sales, growing earnings, and VALUE as believe in 20 years they will continue to dominate.
I'm just beginning my research into Chinese companies as a growth play. I'm hoping for another bogus rally in the domestic market so I can wind down most of my positions and begin moving them abroad, as I'm convinced that the domestic market is going to be hurting for years to come, and the dollar will continue to be worth less (I'm not fooled by the recent dollar rally, but rather using it as a chance to get out of mine). I'm planning to put about 10% of my cash into gold, 65% into high-yielding foreign utilities, tankers and mining companies with good balance sheets and low valuations. The remainder will go into Asian growth companies like China Medical Technologies (CMED), but I plan to sit on the cash for a little while since stocks everywhere still seem to be falling.
