Re: "Secrets for Profiting in Bull and Bear Markets"
Ok, cool. I'm applying Stan's techniques to my Investopedia account, seems like I'm getting the hang of it. I can see me using this more next time I go to cash on my real investments. Thanks again.

Re: "Secrets for Profiting in Bull and Bear Markets"
Remember to focus on hot or improving Sectors. A good place to start is ClearStation : Welcome to ClearStation!, "Tag & Bag", check out the "Trending Up" stocks.
Also good hunting @ Barchart.com: Online financial quotes, charts, and technical analysis for stock and commodity traders . Check "Sector" & "Signal" Top 100. Simply crossing over the MA(150) "investor" or MA(50) "trader" is not enough. It must break through resistance line on good volumn & confirm this, maybe wait until the next day to confirm the breakout. Check the left side of your chart for overhead resistance, to evaluate your risk/reward ratio. Make sure you know what Stage the stock is in. Make sure it has cleared out of Stage 1 consolidation and is breaking out into Stage 2! Best of investing. |

Re: "Secrets for Profiting in Bull and Bear Markets"
Hi Gunnski,
I just bought this book a week ago. Still reading Chapter 1 and I noticed that they talk about MANSFIELD STOCK CHARTS. When I visited the website, they wanted to get the membership to read those charts. Is there any other place where we can see same charts? Thank you, Nilu Anyone read the book? I would be interested in your feed back. I ran a search on the board & rec'd. no hits regarding this book. I was surprised. Possibly it is Stan's hair! That hair brings back many good memories! Accept the oil price in 1972. I remember back them they were calling for $100.00 a barrel for oil & the world was coming to an end. Currently, that sounds slightly familair. A must read! |

Re: "Secrets for Profiting in Bull and Bear Markets"
I suggest:
StockCharts.com - Simply the Web's Best Stock Charts There are many others, Clearstation, Bigcharts, Zignals & Finviz. Stockfetcher.com has neat charts and a very low cost montly fee. I believe you can test drive them for awhile for free. If your into researching scans & set ups, back testing. This is the only place you need to go. Don't waste your time or money anywhere else! Very knowledge members on the board, who have tried it all & will help shorten your learing curve. Or, open a brokage acct. (many you can open for no charge/fees/deposit & then fund the acct. when you are ready) & use their charts -tools. I recommend Scottrade. Weinstein's book was written some time ago. The theroy is still good. The charts, indictors and tools have improved greatly since the the release of his book. I pick it up a regular basis and scan through a chapter or two. It has helped many a whole bunch. Hope that helps. |
