I like the books, as well as the tv and radio shows. I wouldn't invest just based on his word, but it's worth looking at companies he mentions to see what you think of them, in my opinion. I believe that he truly wants people to make money and wants to help take the power from the establishment and spread it around to the masses.

I am lukewarm about Cramer. A lot of the stuff he recommends I wouldn't ever consider. The Graham/Buffet/Town investment style suits me better and makes more sense.

Nevertheless, if you can stomach his style, there is a lot of nice market insider information available on his show (I just listen to the Real Money Podcasts) and it's nice to have a daily commentary about past events.

Of course, his views are highly subjective --but that's what makes good commentators.

Thumbs up Re: Real Money - Jim Cramer

I Love Jim Cramer and I love this book. As a matter of fact, I just finished it last night. He does a good job of helping a person understand Options. I agree with the other posts about diversification. I'm just starting out and only have about 500 dollars to start with, so I'm considering starting out with two stocks.

I am somewhat leery about his new book though. I'm wondering if it will really have anything new to offer. It will be interesting to see the reviews on Amazon. I wish he would've talked about some of his more advanced Options trading technique. Not that I plan on trading options anytime soon, but I really intrigued after really everything he had to say about short-selling.

Dan

Re: Real Money - Jim Cramer

I watched Mad Money for the first time ever last week. Though he can be a bit loud (and the sound effects tend to give me a headache after a while), he has got some remarkable insight into a variety of industries. He really seems to do his homework.

I had heard that his show could cause stock movements and now I understand why - he has a button that, when hit, just says "buy buy buy"! :)

I'd recommend taking a look at the new book on the shelf for a little bit. I've been told that he is just capitalizing on, another book. Theres got to be some good value within the book but like I say, it could be a bunch of rants and raves. I have the audio book of mad money: it'll take me quite some time, going over it and over it, before I can sort out everything he says. He's all over the place in it. Goes well with my noise reduction earphones on the plane.

I've watched Cramer for quite some time and I love em.

Re: Real Money - Jim Cramer

He is entertaining and does pretty good sector analysis. I also like his take on IPO's.

However, every time I managed to get influenced by him --it cost me. So I am lukewarm about his picks.
