Fun chart here. Recently filled the gap. Stock dropped on bankruptcy rumors.

Anyone think price will continue to rise? I look for a retrace (at some restance right now), then continue it's run up. Really like the recnt volumn! Next level of resistance $6.00ish? Fun one to discuss.

Tom commented on this stock & it dropping over 70%+. I held on (small position), rode back up to even/+ alittle. Yes, stocks under $10.00 are volatile, but can be very interesting & profitable.

Happy Memorial Day (weekend) to all. God Bless our Veterans and Soldiers!

Re: Xrm

Gunnski,

I have seen you mention in past posts about looking at the short activity. My question to you and others is how much do you take this into play before making a trade? Also where do you recommend finding the short activity on a stock. I don't use investools, mainly the free sites for my research. I'm singling you out as you appear to use a more "TA" approach to trading?? I follow "Rule 1" to date as i research more from a technical aspect.

Enjoy the long weekend

Re: Xrm

Danno,

To me, in my pea sized brain. Short Selling Interest is alot like checking Insider Trading. I know they are not the same, but the big kids have tons of info. that the street doesn't. By the time information hits the streets, it is already baked into the price generally.

Short Interest is just another tool I suggest you check out.

If a biz. has lots of shorts, someone is betting the price is going down. The closer the shorts get to settling date. Sometimes you'll get the buyers come in and buy the stock up, so the seller's shorts will not settle (they lose), ie: short squeeze. Or, the people holding the shorts panic and start buying the stock, to cover their short positions. Price jumps up. Or, people get wise & see the stock is getting hammered & jump on with the shorts & drive the price down further.

This can make a stock jump up or down, for no apparent reason. For the little guy, his heads on a swivel wondering what just happened. He just got whipsawed for no appearent reason.

Sometimes the answer is in the Short Selling Interest.

Try this:

Short Interest Stock Short Selling Data, Shorts, Stocks: Short Squeeze

Simply put in your ticker symbol. A nice report pops up.

or

NASDAQ Stock Market - Stock Quotes - Stock Exchange News - NASDAQ.com

Love this site for research. Put in your ticker (there are boxes for 10 symbols, upper left. Click on FUNDAMENTALS. In left margin you'lll see a little yellow box, w/ FINANCIALS, to the right you'll see Short Interest. Click on that. You'll get great info. & a niffty chart.
