Re: Teamwork

Will someone let us know if there is a site where we go to contribute? Or is such by invitation only? Like the thread updates but if we are supposed to be doing something, someone needs to let us know.

I started a Google group, because I was tired of waiting around and not hearing anything about the "teamwork" group, so, If you are interested, you can email me your email address so that I can formally invite you to the Google group. It is by invite only so that we can keep our communications private.

I already have a couple people interested, so jump on board so we can get to work.

Just PM me your email. Don't worry, I won't sign you up for spam. I just need it so that I can sign you up.

Rob

Re: Teamwork

Hi,
Those of you that are valuing EBAY at below MOS, can you share how you are arriving at that? Whenever I try to value it, I end up being above MOS.
Thanks

Re: Teamwork

Dtrusty,
Here are the numbers I used:
1) 0.99 (EPS)
2) 23% Growth Rate (Analysts)
3) 46 Future P/E (Historical is in the 70's and last 10 years average is even higher, so I used double the growth rate)
You end up with $89.21 Sticker Price and $44.61 MOS. The stock is trading at around $34, and the last tool, MACD, just went green today. The other two went green on Friday. Hope this helps!

Re: Teamwork

I can not follow you with ebay.

EPS: .99 -> so far so good...
growth: 22.7% (next 5 years) -> as far as the analysts say (i did not calculate them myself)
PE: 28.6 ->analyst future PE

Stickerprice: 54,75 $
MOS: 27,38 $
Todays Price: 34,59 $

And this is the price worth, if you belive ebay is going to grow further on at 23% p.A.

Michael

Re: Teamwork

Michael
Just a question.
I couldn't find any analysts ratings for EBAY for future PE.
Can you tell me where you found the 28.6% Future PE analyst rating for Ebay
Thanks

Re: Teamwork

Anyone have any updates on the "Team"? Just curious, have they all retired? I wish them the best & I hope they located their couple of true R-1 businesses.

Re: Teamwork

Hey guys. I am a new to all this. I also am interested in picking other peoples minds and pooling efforts for the sake of saving time. Here is what I have done thus far. I read the book. I dropped $2000.00 into an IRA using TDameritrade (I received 500 free trades). I married a wonderful woman (this is the most exciting part of this whole sequence). I bought 40 shares of BBBY at 26.00. I am now watching it go sideways. I calculated a MOS of 23 to 26.

I would love for this "Rule #1" investing thing to work. I have always had an interest in the stock market. The only thing I lacked was the confidence to actually put money into the market. I guess the "Rule" has worked so far: it has gotten me into the market. I am very interested in learning this and will be happy to share anything I learn. BBBY is the only move I have made to date. I am starting to search for new companies. If I find any I will post it on this thread.

Re: Teamwork

Is there still a team active? If so I'm interested in joining it. If not, just send me a PM, maybe we can start a new team

Re: Teamwork

Straddle,

I joined this crew way back when. I lasted about a week. Lots of bickering & indecision on MOS's for a biz.

The plan was to narrow a watch list down to approx. 10 stocks eveyone felt comfortable with. That is like trying to get (3) attorneys in the same room and get them all to agree on something. It ain't happening!

The chap that was "in charge" was a nice fellow, I believe he was a school teacher & some what of a task master. When he gave me a home work assignment, I decided this was not the group for me.

I like the ideas of Sector/Industry specialist on the board. Take a sector - disect it (as an individual or a team) and give updates on what's going on in the respective sector/industry. Most important who are the true blue bloods in the group you are studying.

I say this as this is a revolving/evolving market. It is traded differently than in the 70's & 80's. No dot.com's. 911, Enron, Worldcom, current financials, computer age, things have changed drastically. But, there is lots of sector rotation. I think that is key the sooner you get in the better. That ability to act quickly comes with up to date sector knowledge.

Amazing how many stocks I am finding that are hitting support levels from 2004-2006 lows. Pretty scary! Take some stocks and run a 4 or > year line chart. Run a horizonal line to the left from your current price.

Just a thought.

Great concept.
