Re: Proxy / Shareholder Voting

Its pretty simple. You'll get a ballot in the mail. Fill it out and send it back. Many companies will let you use the Internet and vote electronically.

You may be asked to vote on new Board member(s) or various issues. Basically, it is a vote(s) from a shareholder, who is absent from the board meeting. Hope that helps.

Many thanks Gunnski - Are these documents usually obtained from the companies website or would you receive them via your broker?

Re: Proxy / Shareholder Voting

Every business is different. Check with their Corp. Office - Sharehold Meeting Minutes or check SEC re: proxy filings for the biz in question. Usually, the biz. will send the docs., unless a disbursment is involved, then it may be the broker. It will be documented somewhere & should be easy to find, especially if it is a U.S. biz.
