Hey all!
I'm new to the site, and I know that the Homework Archives have probably been sorted alphabetically since the site's existence, but I really think that the should be sorted by the date of the last post.
My reasoning: I seem to find a lot of unanswered questions in some threads as the last post. If someone asks a question in the WalMart thread, and someone else posts in American Eagle a minute later, the first post in WalMart will most likely be forgotten about and lost back on the 2nd or 3rd page. Not many people will come across it because 1. Only people interested in the stock will go back that far to open the thread and 2. it has disappeared off of the "newest post" next to Homework Archives on the home forum page.
If they were sorted by the date of the last post, people not necessarily looking for the thread will come across it, and can potentially contribute where as if they were sorted alphabetically, they most definitely would not find the post.
As for clutter if it were rearranged, I really think that a quick search tool would help a ton for a "quick search" so you can locate a stock without scrolling through pages of stocks. This is a tool that is used on another forum I frequent, Honda-Tech. On the page itself, in a convenient location, it has a search bar specifically for that section, GDD.
So in short, I think that ordering them by date of last post would really help get questions answered and help keep discussions going on for longer periods of time helping the community as a whole. The quick search could help also, if decided that we will change the order.
Thanks and let me know what you think!
Brett
